A Bookworm's Holiday

The most awaited time of the year has come and my heart is filled with joy and excitement to welcome and embrace the holidays. Thanks to a LOT of challenges this 2016, I am now more confident for the brand new year ahead. The end of the year is a time we look back on the months that have passed and think about how each experience has brought us to where we are now.

So, what does a bookworm girl like me do on holidays?

I read a book from Marie Lu entitled “The Young Elites” and the “Rose Society.” I will make a review on these books on my next blog. So stay tuned!

Aside from reading books, I spent time with my family and relatives. What better way to spend that time reflecting than with the people who hold our hearts? The holidays may have last for only a short period of time but spending holidays with your loved ones makes all of it worth it if you savor every moment of it.

We prepared ourselves for the birth of Jesus Christ through completing the dawn mass for 9 days. We had a gathering at my aunt’s house and spent our Christmas indulging ourselves in delicious delicacies. It was fun because not only I got to eat and taste a lot of food; I also got the opportunity to bond with my family.

Here are the adventures that I experienced on Holiday:

We went to Canibad Secret Paradise in Brgy. Aundanao, Samal. It was really a perfect time to meditate and relax because the resort was breathtaking. The adventure in Canibad is probably one of the best experience I had this holiday. Although the road to Canibad was quite difficult, I still think that the memories I made are what made it worth it. Canibad is famous for it's cliff-jumping, mountaing climbing and it's oh-so-amazing rock formation and crystal clear water. I got to experience things I only dreamed of before, and now, they're already checked in my adventure bucket list! Yey!

On the 29th of December, I witnessed Montevista's pride which is the Diwanag Festival, the most awaited festival of the people not only in Montevista but all of the Comvalenyos.

Last Festival of Lights had the theme of the different landmarks all around the world. This time, it's theme is entitled "Disneyland" and again, just like the previous festival, it amazed the eyes of every person who visited the festival.

But above all of these celebrations and fun with family and friends, let us never forget the real essence of this holiday. It is a time to give thanks to God and rejoice for Jesus Christ is born!

So, that was all my holiday about. Thank you! I hope you had a great holiday just like mine. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! :)
